Hi! I’m Quan, a final-year Ph.D. student in Operations Management at Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University, under the supervision of Prof. Mehmet Gumus and Prof. Sentao Miao. I received my M.Eng from Memorial University of Newfoundland and my B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Before joining the Ph.D. program at McGill, I worked as an engineer and programmer for Memorial University and a startup for six years.
I am passionate about addressing operational challenges arising from the adoption of emerging technologies, with a focus on optimization, algorithm design, and empirical analysis. I pursue two interconnected streams. The first stream focuses on improving complex supply chain operations for small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses, and the second stream focuses on enhancing platform services in domains such as ride-hailing and fresh food e-commerce.
I’m joining the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering & Management (ISEM) at National University of Singapore (NUS) as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2026.
